Welcome to the best season of your life yet! Having friends and a community who loves Jesus is essential to growing deeper in your faith. During these quick few years on campus, you will be tasked with discovering who you want to be and what you want to do. The best way to explore this new version of you is with meaningful friendships in a campus ministry setting. At Illinois Wesleyan University, Chi Alpha Normal offers weekly small groups called "core groups", prayer gatherings, formal teachings, and, of course, fun events.

Chi Alpha Normal is more than just a campus ministry. We are your forever family during and after your time at Illinois Wesleyan University. College ministry is about more than just small groups and services, it's about doing life together. Embedded into the DNA of Chi Alpha Normal is recurring weekly rhythms for your core group. This could be Monday afternoons of spike ball on the Eckley Quadrangle, grabbing an amazing pulled pork sandwich from Tommy's, or practicing for your group presentation at The Ames Library. There are an infinite amount of things you can do with your core group; And that's the thing, its YOUR group. At Chi Alpha Normal, you aren't just another student, you are part of a true community.

Our college ministry prioritizes you knowing Jesus and His gospel, how deeply He desires to be with you, and how much He wants the world to know about His love! Discipleship is a living and active process, which is why it is essential to take your faith into your own hands as you journey on campus. Every student who comes to Chi Alpha Normal is assigned two leaders. These leaders are students who actively and daily pursue Jesus and His Word. Their main mission is to help you grow deeper with God and love your experience at Illinois Wesleyan University. Not only will you have weekly core group gatherings, around 5 - 10 people, you will also have one-on-one moments with one of your leaders. Your weekly small group gathering will focus on understanding the gospel, with an emphasis on open discussion. This is a time for you to ask the real or hard questions. We are here to bring life change to you and our universities. Plus, you will get to connect with your forever family, share a meal, and catchup on life. One on one time with your leader is a great opportunity to talk through things you struggle with believing, how to live a life that honors Jesus, and how to dive deeper into the Bible.
